Police hunt for a man dressed as The Mask after violent robbery

Matt Tate

A man dressed as The Mask – made famous by Jim Carrey in the 1994 film of the same name – is wanted by police in connection with a robbery.

According to Thames Valley Police, a 21-year-old man was attacked by a group of men in Reading on Sunday, April 10.

The victim was walking along Beresford Road with a friend when the group began shouting in their direction.

The victim was approached after his friend walked away, where one of the attackers reportedly attempted to punch him, but missed.

He was then struck from behind and knocked to the floor, where he was repeatedly punched and kicked.

The victim only sustained minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment, but he realised after the attack that his wallet – containing cash and bank cards – had been taken.

Police are now looking to speak with the four men pictured in the CCTV footage, as they believe they may have information that could help the investigation.

One of them stands out in particular as he was dressed as The Mask.
