A 'petty' Chinese millionaire once withdrew his entire life savings and made the bank staff count it all in the wake of an argument.
After a disagreement, he withdrew five million Yuan, which is the maximum daily withdrawal, before making the staff count it note by note. He then vowed to be back every day to repeat the request until his account was empty.
He blamed the conduct of the staff at the bank branch for his unusual and petty request, but the bank say a staff request for him to put on a face mask was the only thing to cause his ire.
Whatever the cause, we know the millionaire demanded they take out the sum (the equivalent of £536k at the time of writing) and count it all note by note.
The millionaire posted on Chinese social media site Weibo under the name 'Sunwear', in which he said that he was displeased with the bank's service.
He said: "Because of this attitude, I can only withdraw all the money and put it in other banks.
"It was necessary to request them to count the cash in case it fell short."
He reportedly then put the cash into his luxury car before driving away.
Throughout the incident, the bank maintained that none of the staff who were working that day provided poor service.
