Papa John’s launch pepperoni diffuser so your house can always smell like pizza

The smell is supposed to help students destress

The release of the limited-edition diffuser coincides with Freshers Week as new consumer research shows that a quarter of students say the smell of fresh pizza helps reduce stress.

In consumer research conducted by the pizza chain, 98 per cent of students admitted to feeling stressed at some point during their university experience, however, 88 per cent of students consider using scent diffusers to reduce stress.

Along with 47 per cent of students believing diffusers make them feel happy and comforted, 21 per cent believe that a scent can bring back memories of a childhood home while 17 per cent believe they bring back thoughts of happy moments with friends.

The new Pepperoni Pizza Diffuser offers a sweet-smoky aroma with a hint of spice. Including six rattan reeds to release the scent, the diffuser will last up to three months.

Rebecca Carroll, a spokesperson for Papa Johns UK said: “Whether you’re a fresher or seasoned student, heading to university is an incredibly exciting time, but the research has shown it can also be stressful.

“We’ve offered students superb deals over the years so they can grab a delicious pizza, but we wanted to go one step further this Freshers Week by also helping them to destress and unwind while at home all day, everyday.”  

The diffuser is available from the Papa John’s website but only for a limited time.

In addition, students can claim a free personal pizza by signing up to the Papa Johns student portal, as well as giving them the chance to win £5k when they place an order.
