The alarm was raised just before 9:50 am.

Rescue efforts are currently underway following reports that an oil tanker has collided with a cargo ship in the North Sea.

HM Coastguard is co-ordinating the rescue effort just off the coast of East Yorkshire.

The alarm was raised before 9:50 am this morning and a coastguard helicopter from Humberside was sent out to help with the rescue efforts.

Lifeboats from  Skegness, Bridlington, Mablethorpe and Cleethorpes. and firefighting teams are also on the scene.

According to the BBC, the oil tanker that was involved in the collision is currently on fire.
