Neil Parish has formally resigned as an MP after admitting watching pornography in the House of Commons, according to reports.

Parish, who has represented Tiverton and Honiton in Devon since 2010, earlier said it had been a “moment of madness”.

He said the first time was accidental after looking at a tractor website, but the second time – in the House of Commons – was deliberate.

Parish was suspended by the Conservative Party on Friday. Two female colleagues claimed they had seen him looking at adult content on his phone while sitting near them.

The incident came to light last week when Tory MPs met to discuss sexual harassment at Westminster, with two MPs complained about a colleague watching porn on separate occasions.

Parish was later named as the MP and reported himself to the Standards Committee of the House of Commons.
