According to Mail Online, a hearing will take place at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court next Wednesday. The hearing will not take place in open court and Greenwood is not expected to attend.
The 20-year-old was arrested in January after images and videos were posted online. He was also questioned by Greater Manchester Police on suspicion of making threats to kill.
After spending three nights in a police cell, he was released on conditional bail which was later extended until mid-June.
'We can confirm that the application to extend the pre-charge bail will be considered on the 23rd June 2022,' a Ministry of Justice official is quoted as saying by the Mail.
Greenwood, who has been suspended from playing and training by United, was originally held on suspicion of raping and attacking a woman. Before being released on bail, he was re-arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill.
Since his arrest, sportswear giant Nike have ended a sponsorship deal with Greenwood. He has also been removed from video games including FIFA 22, eFootball, and PES. Related links:Explore more on these topics:
