They’ve embraced a new filling and it sounds delicious.

When it comes to buying a packet of M&Ms, it can be a real challenge deciding which filling to get.

The original brown packet for chocolate, the yellow packet for peanut or blue for crispy… It’s a TOTAL life or death decision.

For those fans of M&Ms who aren’t fans of either packets or always looking for something a little moreish, well look no further my friends.

According to CNNMoney, the newest filling in the M&M range is caramel, with the new filling flavoured sweets available to buy instore as early as May 2017.

Aptly called M&M’s Caramel, the new sweets will have a soft gooey centre of caramel, covered in chocolate which will in turn be covered in the traditional crunchy M&M shell.

The vice president of research and development of Mars Chocolate confirmed the huge news.

“Caramel is extremely trendy… It’s a $2.2 billion flavor segment and the fastest growing segment in food right now. We want to be part of this category.

“It was a big technological challenge for us…We never before had a M&M lentil with a true soft center, so we had to figure out how to not make the chocolate too sticky or too soft that it could collapse.”

Caramel M&Ms are said to be a permanent addition to the Mars chocolate family and will be on sale from May 2017 onwards.
