Despite being made from wax, the sculpture arguably looks much more human
People have been commenting on the realism of Mark Zuckerberg’s Madame Tussaud’s wax work – joking that it looks more human than the real-life Zuck does.
The Facebook founder’s waxwork was unveiled at the iconic museum in San Francisco back in 2014, and does look a lot like the man himself.
But Zuckerberg is a man who famously talks and acts like he isn’t actually from this planet, and, despite being made from wax, the work does seem to give off more humanity and joie de vivre, as the Reddit community has been pointing out.
Discussing the wax work on the r/interestingasf*** Reddit feed, one user quipped: “No joke, though… which one is which?”
“Surprise! Neither one is the original!” another replied.
Others thought the explanation was simple – Zuckerberg isn’t human in the first place.
“The ‘real’ one is a alien robot.. Didn’t you know,” one said.
Another wrote: “Thoroughly convinced he’s a robot.”
A third went into more detail about what it was about the wax work that didn’t sit well with them.
They wrote: “Likely it’s a combination of many very subtle things but the best way I can put it into words is that it looks like he’s missing a spark of humanity.
“I don’t know what exactly that means but that’s the best way to describe it.
“My conscious mind can’t detect exactly what it is, but there’s something missing from him that isn’t really quantifiable and without it he genuinely looks uncanny.”
