Topless criminal repeatedly botches throwing drugs into UK prison

Joshua Smith, 30, was comically seen failing to throw drugs at a prison three times as he failed again and again to get the package above the walls.

Smith, who was topless when caught on CCTV, tried to hurl the class A drugs from the roadside near Hull prison.

When the first throw didn’t go through and fell on the tarmac, Smith wearily ran to the package in order to get into a better position for his next throw.

After aiming carefully, Smith finally gets it on his fourth attempt, leaving the area and back on the pavement in no apparent rush.

The package was intercepted by officers in the facility, finding class A drugs, along with a mobile phone.

Smith was later tracked down and arrested by police.

The 30 year-old man was promptly sentenced at Hull Crown Court to three years and eight months in jail.

Humberside Police detective constable Heather Butler said: "The package was analysed leading to the discovery of an estimated £12,000 of drugs, including class A drugs, and a mobile phone."

Butler added that Smith consciously made the decision of delivering “dangerous drugs” to inmates.
