Friday afternoon saw the latest case of the country's escalating knife crime problem with the death of a man outside Clapham Common tube station.
Police and ambulance services were called to the scene, on Clapham Park Road, south-west London, just before 2.40pm and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The man was in his forties but next of kin were yet to be informed at time of writing and the crime scene remained cordoned off into Friday evening.
No arrests have yet been made and the Metropolitan Police noted that there was no indication that the incident was terror-related.
They remain at work to establish the circumstances of the man's death and encourage anyone with information to call 101 with the reference CAD 4448/29Mar.
