A woman has told how she was ‘robbed at gunpoint' by a man who then ordered her to add him on Facebook - before later asking her out on a date.

Amber Beraun was checking her mailbox outside her home in Indianapolis on May 8 when a Damien Boyce approached her and pulled out a gun.

He made Amber hand over all her cash, which she did, but then things took a bizarre turn.

Speaking to WRTV, Amber said: "He took [the gun] out of his pocket to show me what was going on — [he said] let me into your house. I did not do that.”

So, she handed him $100 in cash. But Boyce then demanded that Amber add him as a friend on Facebook, with the gun still pointed at her.

In no position to deny the weird friend request, Amber added him on the social media platform.

Satisfied with the new connection, he then left.

"I thought if maybe I added him on Facebook, he would leave, and he did,” Amber explained.

Boyce clearly had come creepy long-game in mind though, as later that evening he started sending her flirtatious messages.

He was so smitten by Amber that he even offered to pay her back the money he had stolen.

He sent one message which read: "Look you know I'mma pay you back. It's a f***** up way to meet someone, but d*** you wass too pretty to rob."

She responded: "I believe you man. I can tell you're sweet, times just got rough. I know that."

And, taking the opportunity to shoot his shot, Boyce then said: "Come chill with me. I swear I’m not on that type of timing.”

Unsurprisingly, it was a firm no from Amber, as she responded: "I do have a man. You know I can’t do that LOL.

“I wish you the best tho".

The whole incident has left Amber feeling unsafe around her home, and she said Boyce had taken away "my sense of safety from my own home."

She continued: "It makes me a little on edge knowing that people walk up and down the street, looking for places to commit crimes.

“It makes it a little different when you hear noises at night."

Thankfully, Boyce was arrested and charged with gunpoint robbery. His bail bond is currently $7,500.

He was also arrested in connection with another robbery on June 12, and has further been charged with burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon, criminal recklessness, as well as battery.

He is alleged to have shot two people and hit another with a brick, before police claim he barricaded himself inside a building before eventually surrendering to the SWAT team.
