Man ‘killed in shooting’ outside packed pub in London

The incident happened yesterday evening shortly before 10pm after loud bangs were heard in Clapham.

Tuesday morning saw a police cordon and forensics tent in place outside The Landor Pub on Landor Road, as per The Telegraph.

The paper reported that the head chef at the pub, Paul Kasprzyk, 43, said the incident had been "shocking".

He said: “I was sitting [close to where it happened] some of the day smoking ... just by the side door. People tried to help him on the street, but obviously they couldn’t. It’s very unusual.”

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 9.59pm on Monday, Aug 10 to reports of a shooting on Landor Road, SW9.

“We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and paramedics in fast-response cars.

“We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. Our first paramedics arrived in three minutes.

“Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.”

As per Metro, the victim is believed to be a man in his 20s.

A source close to the investigation told MyLondon: "Specialist forensics teams have started working to secure evidence and establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Nearby houses with ring doorbells were immediately visited by officers in order to obtain any available footage."
