A man has died and several others have been injured following a horrifying incident on a rollercoaster at Six Flags in Georgia.
The man was riding Goliath when he reportedly fell from his seat, hitting the coaster several times before landing on the roof of a haunted house attraction below.
Goliath reaches heights of 200 feet and speeds of up to 70mph. The incident was reportedly captured by the camera that takes souvenir photographs of riders.
Witnesses told local news station WXIA that they watched him strike the ride three times during the fall.
One woman who was on the coaster with her partner said the experience quickly turned frightening.
“We were having a great time and to just screaming ‘Oh my God, what is happening?’” she told WXIA, adding that staff had checked their safety harnesses before the ride began.
Another passenger said the man appeared to have been riding alongside his son, while his wife and daughter watched from the ground.
The attraction was stopped immediately, and passengers still on the track were helped off in groups of four. The entire park was later evacuated.

Police confirmed that detectives from the Cobb County Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit are leading the investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
In a statement, a Six Flags spokesperson said: “We are deeply saddened by the guest incident at our park today.”
The company extended its condolences to the man’s loved ones and confirmed it was supporting affected guests and staff while cooperating with the investigation.
Mableton Mayor Michael Owens also offered his condolences, expressing gratitude to those responding to the emergency.
Similar rides at other Six Flags parks have reportedly been closed as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
