A major London street has been evacuated following a ‘bomb threat’.
Regent Street shops and offices were evacuated on Wednesday 8 January at approximately 1.10pm following an alleged bomb threat.
Police cordoned off the usually bustling road between Conduit Street and Vigo Street as they addressed the incident.
A video shared on the social media platform X shows dozens of people in the street near the police cordon, with a police vehicle parked just outside the area and officers in attendance.
Westminster police issued a statement on the incident on social media platform X, confirming a number of controlled explosions had been carried out.
Road closures are in place in the vicinity of Regent Street and New Burlington Street while officers investigate a suspicious vehicle. Officers have carried out a number of controlled explosions as a precautionary measure.

Members of the public are being led towards Oxford Circus as Emergency Services continue to deal with the situation.
