A Love Island star has announced that he is running to become a Reform UK councillor.
Season 6 Islander, Ollie Williams shocked fans when he shared the news on his Instagram last night.
The 29-year-old had a short 3-day, but controversial stint on the Winter version of the series in 2020.
After he first appeared on the show, social media posts emerged of him boasting about hunting.
Following just two episodes of the 2020 series, complaints about his casting doubled from 231 to 467.
He left the villa after just 3 days when he made the shock revelation that he still had feelings for another girl on the outside, who he actually married in 2024!
Now, rid of his 'reality star' status, Williams has announced that he will contest in the Lostwithiel and Lanreath area in upcoming local elections.
In a post on Instagram, he said it is 'time to act'.
"Our freedom of speech and society has been eroded for far too long and it’s time to act.’
"I am not prepared to standby and hope someone else sorts it out while I watch it all burn – so I’m taking my first baby steps into politics [sic]", stated Williams.
The caption is attached to an infographic listing why people should vote for Reform UK.
The list includes arguments such as ‘freedom to believe in our history and our country’ and ‘freedom to feel safe and free to be who we are’.
‘Remember, political policies can be negotiable, but our FREEDOM is not,’ the caption continues.
