Latest threat issued to British public as Russia warns of ‘catastrophic consequences’

Another day, another Russian warning to the UK

This time, Russia’s foreign ministry has issued a warning to Britain and its people, claiming that it could strike British military facilities.

Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, in a weekly briefing in Moscow, said that Russia could retaliate against Britain by striking its facilities both inside and outside of Ukraine.

Zakharova added that the UK risks taking the conflict to a new level, as she called on the UK to back off its “hostile line” on Ukraine.

“We are urging all residents of the United Kingdom to think about the unavoidable catastrophic consequences of the hostile moves of their authorities,” the foreign ministry spokeswoman said.

The latest warning comes following Britain’s announcement that it would give Ukraine the blueprint to produce Storm Shadow missiles, which could strike Russia.

This warning was the strongest of its kind yet from Russia to the UK and its people.

Zakharova further added that London was “one step away” from becoming legally complicit in ‌what she called “terrorism” against Russian ⁠civilians, something she said that, unless Britain changed course, would have “catastrophic consequences”.

Russia also warned Britain that it could strike its factories inside the country

This week the UK was also threatened by a Kremlin adviser that factories in the UK which produce drones for Ukraine could come under attack.

The latest Russian warning to the UK comes as the country agreed to share long-range missile blueprints with Ukraine.

The potential attacks on Britain, as per Andrei Fedorov, the Russian adviser who once served as deputy foreign minister, could come from “unknown sources”.

As he spoke on BBC Newsnight, Fedorov said that he could not “100% exclude” the prospect of “semi-military” action by Russia on the UK.

“Sooner or later, there might be not only verbal, but maybe some visible reaction from Russia towards the UK”.

When pressed to elaborate on his remarks, Fedorov said: “There are different discussions how it should look like. It might be so-called technical reaction, maybe some hackers attack from unknown source, not from official level, of course.”

“There might be different political steps, and I cannot exclude 100% that there might be some semi-military, for example”, he added.

That could mean “something might happen with enterprises, with the factories which are producing drones for Ukraine”, he said, adding that “They could be attacked, not by Russia, but by… from unknown sources”, after he was asked whether this meant UK factories could be the target.

Russia also gave the UK a ‘three day warning’

Russian president Vladimir Putin has been urged by his country’s state media to use a nuclear torpedo, which is capable of causing a tsunami on the UK, as per reports.

This threat was made amid the UK’s ongoing support for Ukraine by supplying the country with drones in the war against Russia.

“Give the British three days to learn to breathe underwater, then hit them with Poseidon”, Vladimir Solovyov, a state TV presenter said.

It comes as Russia’s embassy in London accused the UK of becoming “an accomplice and co-perpetrator” of the recent drone attacks carried out by Ukraine.

It further accused Britain that it was “deliberately opting for an escalation”.

The UK’s Ministry of Defence said in response that “Britain stands shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine and we are committed to providing the equipment Ukraine needs to defend itself against Putin's illegal invasion.”

What the Poseidon is and the harm it could cause to the UK

Trials in the White Sea have begun by the Khabarovsk, which is designed to carry six Poseidon strategic weapons.

This submarine measures 433 feet in length and is configured with two large compartments for the Poseidon vehicles, which are estimated to weigh between 61 and 121 US tons each.

The torpedo can cause a tsunami on an enemy’s coastline, The Telegraph reported.

Acquiring at least 30 Poseidon torpedoes and four submarines to carry them is now Russia’s plan.

Meanwhile, former Russian deputy prime minister Dmitry Rogozin highlighted 23 potential targets in Britain.

These include military and industrial hubs.

The former war veteran who now serves as senator of the Russian Federation shared the ominous map following the comments made by Ben Wallace, Britain's former defence secretary, Ben Wallace.

Wallace had urged the West to “make Crimea uninhabitable and unviable from a Russian point of view”.

In October last year, he said that “Ukraine does not need to invade the peninsula (which I concede would be incredibly difficult if not impossible), but they should choke it to death.”
