King Charles III is expected to give an update on his own cancer recovery journey, as he has recorded a video message in support of the Stand Up To Cancer campaign.
The King’s message will be broadcast on Friday evening, as part of the joint campaign by Cancer Research UK and Channel 4.
The pre-recorded message will stress the importance of cancer screening programmes to help early diagnosis.
In May, King Charles spoke about his health when he said “I’d like to think I’m on the better side (of my cancer journey)”, during a brief discussion with a well-wisher.
However, there has not been an official update for some time about the King’s state of health.
The King’s message, which was recorded during the last week of November, will be broadcast at 8 pm.
His cancer diagnosis was announced last year in February, and for a period he postponed all public-facing engagements.
The King spent three nights in hospital in January of last year for a procedure on an enlarged prostate.
His cancer was discovered following the procedure, but it wasn’t reported to be prostate cancer, while the exact type of cancer has not been revealed.
King Charles has reportedly been undergoing weekly cancer treatment sessions since early February of last year.
