King Charles has revealed his full personal tax bill in a move that is unprecedented for the monarch.
While it is well documented that a good chunk of the Royal Family's wealth comes from taxpayer's money, it's always been hard to know how much money the king or queen has been paying in tax.
It's not something that has ever been required to be disclosed, despite growing scrutiny and interest from the public.
Well, now in an unprecedented move by King Charles III, the royal accounts have been made public, making for some very interested reading.
It has been disclosed by the King that he paid £12.9m in tax for 2024-2025 which puts him in the top 100 of UK taxpayers.
Meanwhile, William Prince of Wales declared he paid £7.76m tax during the same period.
The accounts also show the King paid £11.7m in tax for 2023-24, while Prince William paid £8.34m for the same period.
However, despite this amount of tax, the accounts also show that the Sovereign Grant, public funding provided by the government, is set to rise to just under £100m for the year 2027-2028.
As well as all this, it has also been revealed that the King and Queen Camilla will continue to live in Clarence House and not move into Buckingham Palace.
