Kim Kardashian's robber said he does not feel guilty about the crime even though "she must be traumatised."
Yunis Abbas spent nearly two years behind bars after robbing Kardashian in her Paris hotel room back in 2016. The 41-year-0ld businesswoman and influencer was tied up and believed she was about to be raped and killed.
Now in an interview with Vice, Abbas said he regrets nothing.
"Since she was throwing money away, I was there to collect it, and that was that. Guilty? No, I don't care," Abbas told the publication. "They should be a little less showy towards people who can't afford it."
Abbas was arrested alongside 12 other men, many of whom were in their late 60s and stole jewellery totalling a staggering $10m.
"You don't come out of it unscathed," he said, acknowledging that his victim "must have been traumatised."
The group, dubbed the "grandpa robbers" online, scouted Kardashian through her social media.
"I went on the internet, and it's true, I saw her jewellery, I saw her ring, I saw that she showed it everywhere, and we knew this information through social media," said Abbas. "She's got a lot of money. This lady doesn't care at all."
Penning a memoir entitled I Kidnapped Kim Kardashian, Abbas continued to to detail the heist, saying that he waited downstairs to stand guard.
The former wife of Kanye West has spoken candidly about the affect the robbery had on her mental health, telling David Letterman that the ordeal was "seven or eight minutes of torture."
"They brought in the concierge from downstairs, handcuffed, with a gun up to him. They were yelling at me in French, and I just sat up," she said. "He grabbed me, and pulled me towards him. But I wasn't wearing anything underneath [my bathrobe]."
She added: "So I was like, 'OK, this is the time, I'm going to get raped. Just deal, like, it's gonna happen.' You know, like just prepare yourself."
