Kanye West rushed to hospital in Los Angeles after emergency call

Rapper Kanye West has been admitted to hospital following an emergency services call

He was brought to a Los Angeles hospital for observation after police responded to a disturbance call. This news follows his decision to cancel the rest of his world tour on Monday. According to The BBC, a spokesperson for the LA Fire Department said:

"At 13:20 pacific time, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to an unspecified medical aid request. "An adult male described as medically stable was taken to an area hospital for further assessment."

According to NBC News, the decision to hospitalise West was made for his own health and safety, after consultation with "multiple authorities familiar with the case", whilst TMZ say he is under "psychiatric evaluation" after "severe sleep deprivation" Kris Jenner told ExtraTV: "He's exhausted. He's just really tired. He's had a gruelling tour and it's been a grind, so he just needs to rest." His wife, Kim Kardashian, was in New York at the time to honour her late father at an event but is said to have flown back to Los Angeles as soon as she heard the news.
