'I just remember thinking I knew how inebriated he was and the dog was very small'
Johnny Depp allegedly threatened to microwave his and Amber Heard's dog after dangling the pooch out of a window.
Johnny Depp's $50m lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard, 36, has continued, with Heard's sister taking the stand yesterday to testify. Heard’s sister Whitney Henriquez testified regarding a shocking incident on March 21, 2013.
She was in the front of the car next to Depp's driver by her account, while Heard and Depp himself were in the back.
“At some point I heard the back window open and Johnny is holding our dog out the window and I froze,” she explained. “I was scared because I just remember thinking I knew how inebriated he was and the dog was very small and I thought if she twitched or if lost her somehow she was just going to go out of the window.”
After bringing the dog back inside, Depp produced a "really scary, loud cackle" before making "some joke about putting her in the microwave.”
Henriquez told the court in Fairfax, Virginia, that the incident had unfolded after Depp accused Heard of cheating with a friend and rekindling with an ex because of his painting hanging on the wall.
According to Henriquez, Depp's speech was "slurring”, and the property in Orange “filled with smoke" when she arrived.
Depp believed that Heard had been cheating with friend Marie in France before moving onto a "painting on the wall that was done by one of my sister’s exes."
While Heard told her sister that the painting had been there since they moved in, Depp was allegedly “convinced that it was on the wall to taunt him and tease him."
By her own account, Henriquez noticed her sister’s face was “swollen and red” and that her lip “did appear to be cut." At the time, she claims she didn't think much of it.
After four or five hours, Henriquez was able to get Depp out of the house. Having insisted on Heard coming along to film a documentary with Keith Richards, that's when Depp threatened the pooch.
