Jamie Vardy just demolished Harry Kane with one cheeky tweet

The circle of life, Harry.

Jamie Vardy extended his astounding winning streak last night – by absolutely owning Harry Kane on Twitter.

To understand it all properly, we have to go back two weeks when Tottenham Hotspur striker Kane posted this image on Instagram:

The un-captioned post’s message was clear: the Spurs lions were going to slaughter the Leicester foxes.

Then, after a 4-0 away victory over Stoke, Kane said that Spurs were “on their tails” and that they “are not going anywhere.”

And then everything changed last night, which prompted Vardy to deploy the perfect lion-themed response.

Vardy used this shot from The Lion King of Mufasa falling from a cliff :

It wasn’t directed at Kane. It didn’t mention any team.

But some 90K RTs and 89K likes later suggests that everyone got the joke.

To make this all the sweeter, Vardy and Kane have to play together for England this summer.

Will – or can – Kane hit back?

So far, his social media response has been just this gracious message:

Come on Harry, we’re waiting!
