Jackie Chan has said that he still wants to make Rush Hour 4, despite the process of making it taking longer than he had hoped.
The iconic comedy franchise, which see Chan team up with comedian Chris Tucker, had its last instalment in 2007 with Rush Hour 3.
Eighteen years on, Chan is still adamant to make a fourth, however he is not sure what is taking so long to make it.
Speaking to Screen Rant, the 71-year-old said: "I don’t know. Ask the director, ask the studio, ask the writer.
"Hurry up! Otherwise, Chris Tucker and me [will be] 100 years old. We’ll be old men doing Rush Hour."
Chan continued: "Yes! And I want to do [another] Shanghai Knights, Shanghai Dawn. Shangai Noon, Shanghai Knights, and Shanghai Dawn. The script is still going on. I want to do a Rush Hour 4."
Speaking to Buzzfeed, Chan ranked the trilogy so far.
He said: "I don’t know.
"You know what, the first one: little money, little time. We shot it like, ‘Go, go, go, go!’ The second one: a lot of money, a lot of time. The third one: too much money, too much time. Too much money is no good."
Both Tucker and Chan have expressed their interest in reprising their roles.
He hinted about a fourth back in 2017, saying: "The script probably at the end of this month will have a second draft and next year, probably start, if… Chris Tucker agrees."
Meanwhile, in 2023, Tucker revealed his interest in reprising his role as LAPD detective James Carter, according to Variety.
Tucker said: "You’re going to see a lot of good stuff coming, but it’s going to be on a whole other level.
"That’s what I like… I’m excited about that. It’s not going to be what you’ve normally seen… Rush Hour 4, that’s something I definitely will probably drop in there because I love working with Jackie, but I’ve got some new stuff that I think you’re really gonna like. I’m excited about it."
