One of McDonald's most iconic burgers is returning to menus in the UK for the first time in almost a decade.
After years of anticipation, the legendary McRib is making its triumphant return to McDonald’s nationwide at 11am this morning (October 16).
The legendary McDonald's item features a tender pork patty in the shape of a rack of ribs, barbecue sauce, pickles, onions, all served in a homestyle bun.
First introduced to Brits in 1981, the sandwich was discontinued four years later, but has returned several times to menus.
However, it hasn't been seen in UK restaurants since December 2014, just under 10 years ago.
Some burger fans couldn't hide their excitement on social media, with one writing: "Babe wake up it's McRib day!!"
Another said: "It's finally here!! McRib Day!!"
The McRib will be available for a limited time only in the UK from 16th October. It costs £4.49 for the item on its own, or £6.19 as part of a medium extra value meal.
The burger's return is part of Maccies' October menu update which features four brand-new items: Mini Hash Browns, Cheese Bites, Toasted Marshmallow Latte and Toasted Marshmallow Hot Chocolate.
Fans can also look forward to the return of seasonal fan favourites, McCrispy® Deluxe, Halloween M&M’s® McFlurry®, Galaxy® Caramel McFlurry® and Toffee Apple Pie.
The price of all these items are as follows:
