Holly Willoughby ‘excited’ as ‘This Morning bosses decide not to replace Phillip Schofield’

Willoughby is currently enjoying her summer break until September, but will reportedly return as the sole permanent presenter of the popular daytime series.

Rather than spend big bucks on a new presenter to replace Phil on the couch, the show will feature a rotating cast of familiar faces including Josie Gibson, Dermot O'Leary, Craig Doyle, and Alison Hammond.

A source told the Daily Mail: "It will essentially be Holly's show. Bosses hope that they can put all of the Schofield scandal behind them and start concentrating on the content of the show rather than the twosome presenting it.

"At least this way there won't be any falling out. Holly is so excited about the plan, she loves Josie, Craig, Alison and Dermot"

Holly Willoughby to Strictly?

It comes as Strictly Come Dancing producers reportedly look to sign Holly to present the flagship dancing competition.

The BBC have been eager to sign her up but believe now is the perfect time following the Schofield scandal that saw him leave the network in disgrace.

According to reports, Holly already has a strong relationship with the BBC after hosting Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof in 2022.

A source told MailOnline that the BBC has had its eye on Holly Willoughby for years.

“BBC bosses want her and they have been plotting for some time to get her for their big shows,” they said.

“They know how popular she is, but it also has to be the right programme. Recently there has been talk around the BBC that Strictly would be a way to lure her over.”
