Holiday makers are advised to check their ski holidays plans as yet another UK travel company enters liquidation.
After operating for over 8 years, SkiYodl Ltd has cancelled all holiday bookings for the upcoming ski season.
Launched in March 2018, the Norwich based company has been a prominent travel company in the UK, with a primary business model revolving skiing and winter travel.
SkiYold offered destinations to several European destinations, including accommodation in chalets, hotels and more across the Alps.
Founder and ski instructor, Oliver Dannatt, has had a prominent career in the world of skiing, instructing celebrities, such as Richard Branson, prior to launching the travel company.
“SkiYodl is a collective of ski industry professionals driven to create a customer-centric booking experience with skiing at its core,” stated on the company’s LinkedIn profile.
“The knowledge and expertise the team has amassed during decades of mountain living are allowing them to create the largest online marketplace of hand-picked stays and experiences in the mountains.”
As of 22 July, SkiYodl were no longer backed by the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA).
A notice from ABTA stated: “We are sorry to inform you that former ABTA member, SkiYodl Ltd, is subject to a voluntary winding-up order and appointed a liquidator for that purpose.”
In order to be reimbursed, SkiYodl clients who paid by credit or debit card are advised to register a claim to ABTA.
On the other hand, clients who paid by bank transfer will need to register a claim with the appointed liquidator, RCM Advisory Limited.
Another UK travel company, GVI had recently closed shop earlier this summer.
GVI announced it would be closing on 1 July and removed its website, despite advertising trips in the days leading up to the announcement.
