This is some holiday hack!
The best part of 2024 is still yet to come (Christmas!) but as some of us begin to look ahead to 2025, it already feels ridiculously long and we’re in need of a holiday from it already!
However, it’s important that we make the most of our annual leave and come back feeling as refreshed as possible.
Travel booking company Omio explained the perfect way you can maximise your annual days off to make sure that you’re away from the office for 60 days.
Basically, it requires you to take advantage of the bank holidays.
As Omio explains, most people get Easter’s Good Friday off work on 18 April and then you’ll have that nice long weekend with Easter Monday 21 April off too.
So, if you were to book four days off either side, you would end up with a whopping 17 days off, counting the weekends between while only using eight days of annual leave.
In May, you’ve got bank holidays on May 5 (a Monday) and May 26 (another Monday), so again, if you take four days off after each, you’ll get nine days of holiday for each booking.
In August, your Monday bank holiday on the August 25 can give you another nine days off if you again use the four day rule. Then, you will have time off for Christmas too.
You’ve got bank holidays on December 25 and 26 as well as January 1. All you have to do is book like this, and you’ll have 16 days off.
But you might want to start getting this time booked off before your co-workers cotton on to it!
