Here are the all the best banners from today’s post-referendum protest

Never gonna give EU up

Matt Tate

It’s been over a week now since the historic and potentially life-changing revelation that Britain had chosen to exit the European Union – but it doesn’t look like the dust is going to settle anytime soon.

Tens of thousands of people have been marching through central London this weekend in protest against the outcome that has sparked total political chaos.

The narrow 52% – 48% outcome has been furiously received by many, particularly those in the 18-24 age bracket who voted overwhelmingly (75%) to Remain in the European Union. The Prime Minister David Cameron has since confirmed that he will resign after the summer, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has been deserted by a number of his shadow cabinet members, and the Conservative leadership race has already had more backstabbing than an episode of Game of Thrones.

The London protest saw a huge group of marchers opposed to Brexit – said to be 50,000 strong at the time of writing – listen speeches from the public figures such as Bob Geldof, Labour MP David Lammy and journalist Owen Jones. A lot of them also came with personalised and seriously pun-heavy banners, so we’ve rounded up the best we could find being shared on social media.
