In a Twitter post, Clarkson called socialists "disgusting people".
A Harry Potter star has called Jeremy Clarkson a "rancid old thug" after the latter posted a controversial tweet in which he lashed out against socialists.
The former Top Gear and current The Grand Tour said on Twitter on Friday (9 September) that the social media platform was a "handy and constant reminder that socialists are disgusting people".
The comment came under heavy criticism online, including from actor Sean Biggerstaff who played Oliver Wood in the Harry Potter series.
As well as appearing in three entries of the fantasy franchise, Biggerstaff is also known for his role in the films Cashback, Consenting Adults, Mary Queen of Scots and Whiskey Galore.
Commenting on Clarkson's post, Biggerstaff wrote: "Shut the f**k up you rancid old thug".

The tweet from The Grand Tour host was seemingly a response to reactions to Queen Elizabeth II's death earlier in the week among the left wing.
She passed away on Thursday at Balmoral aged 96 after reigning for 70 years. Her son, Prince Charles, subsequently became the King.
Clarkson took to Twitter that day to praise former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson for his tribute to the Queen.
"I was trying to think of something to say but Boris Johnson has said it all," the host wrote.
"Whatever you think of him, the man can write. Some beautiful words about a magnificent monarch."
