Fans of the Harry Potter movies have recently been blown away after they realised who played Dobby in the series.
Dobby the House Elf first features in the iconic franchise's second instalment, The Chamber of Secrets, with the singular goal of protecting Harry Potter.
His introduction to the series is full of hijinks as he makes a cake float in the air before dropping it on the head of the Dursley's guest, in an attempt to prevent Harry from attending Hogwarts that year.
However, it turns out that fans of the franchise were not aware as to who played Dobby.
All was revealed on The Graham Norton Show on February 28, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, when Toby Jones spoke about his time playing the beloved House Elf.
The 58-year-old is best known for his roles in Doctor Who, Sherlock and his latest project Mr Bates vs The Post Office.
He also featured as Dr Zola in Marvel's Captain America.
It turns out that many Potterheads were unaware that the BAFTA winner voiced Dobby.
One user on X wrote: "Why has claudia winkleman just informed me that Dobby was Toby Jones. Literally the bloke who tried to murder sherlock saying "I like to watch it happen" was Dobby. HELP ME"
Another said: "Toby Jones is Doby in the Harry Potter movies! DR ZOLA is Dobby! This is the greatest what the s***-moment."
One fan wrote: "How did I not know Toby Jones is the voice of Dobby in the Harry Potter movies?!?!?!"
Jones voiced the iconic character in The Chamber of Secrets, as well as parts one and two of the Deathly Hallows.
It remains unclear as to how much Dobby will feature in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter TV series.
