After studying journalism at Kyiv National University, Halyna left Ukraine and in 2015 she graduated from the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles. She kept her Ukrainian citizenship despite moving to the United States and marrying Matt, a U.S. citizen.
Together the couple had a son, Andros, who is now nine-years-old.
Since his wife's tragic death, Hutchins has decided to sue Baldwin and the other producers on the set of Rust.
Halyna had been working on the film when she was shot by Baldwin as he rehearsed a scene by drawing a gun across his chest.
Baldwin claims he did not know the gun had live ammunition in it, and that he "never pulled the trigger" on the gun.
