Gun salute to mark each year of the Queen’s life will take place Friday, Buckingham Palace has announced.

They will take place in Hyde Park and the Tower of London from 1pm.

A statement says: “Royal Salutes will be fired in London today at 1300hrs BST in Hyde Park by The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery and at the Tower of London by the Honourable Artillery Company.

“One round will be fired for each year of The Queen’s life.”

Meanwhile, the Palace has confirmed that flags at Royal Residences will remain half-masted until 8am on the morning after the final day of Royal Mourning.

This will be observed until seven days after the day of the Queen’s funeral.
