Green Day change song lyrics to burn Trump at American Music Awards

It's a good job Trump has such a thick skin.

Donald Trump can take a joke.

Criticism, satire, mild disagreement – nothing seems to be able to ruffle his steely, unshakable sense of self-worth.

Which is why when he sat down to watch Alec Baldwin’s merciless lampooning of him on Saturday Night Live this weekend, the President-elect was able to see the funny side.

And when his Vice President Mike Pence was politely petitioned by the cast of the play Hamilton to “uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us”, Trump reacted with his usual Presidential gravitas and grace.

So one can imagine his reaction will be similarly charming when he learns what went down at the American Music Awards last night.

Punk rockers Green Day took to the stage and decided to depart from their usual rendition of Bang Bang to make their feelings about their new commander-in-chief crystal clear.

Breaking from the song’s normal lyrics they chanted ‘No Trump! No KKK! No fascist USA’.

Judging by Donald’s previous form, it’s safe to assume he’ll probably just stoically keep his counsel and quietly respect the band’s right to peaceful protest.
