Going For Gold presenter Henry Kelly dies aged 78

The broadcaster's family said that he "peacefully" passed away on Tuesday "after a period of ill health".

"Henry will be sorely missed by his friends and family, including his partner Karolyn Shindler, their son Alexander, Henry's daughter Siobhan and her mother Marjorie," they said in a statement.

Kelly began his career as a journalist, working for The Irish Times and the BBC.

However, he then pivoted towards working in light entertainment, and went on to front shows such as Going For Gold, Game For A Laugh and the first iteration of ITV's Good Morning Britain called TV-AM.

The Dublin-born man later went to work in radio, and hosted programmes for BBC Radio 4, LBC and Classic FM.
