This better be good...

Expect to see a lot of this on Snapchat in the very near future.

As if the millions of people that use Snapchat on a daily basis needed more excuses for procrastination, we’ve been given one with the introduction of a feature that cost Snapchat a hell of a lot of money.

On Tuesday, Snapchat rolled out the new Bitmoji feature, which allows users to create their own personal emoji and use it to express themselves on the app.

Earlier this year, there were reports that Snapchat had shelled out as much as $100m (£76m) to acquire Bitmoji, an app that allows you to create your own personal emoji and comic strip based on your own personal avatar.

You do have to download the Bitmoji app to get the emoji party started. But once you do, you’re good to use it in pictures, video and chat on Snapchat and you can even use the personalised emojis of friends who have done likewise.

It’s a massive investment from the company, so you can be sure they’ll be looking to make it as interesting as possible.

The video below offers a handy guide to getting started; just don’t expect to be getting much work done anytime soon.
