At least 31 people have died since the fires broke out on Thursday

Gerard Butler, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke are among those who have had their homes destroyed by devastating wildfires in California that have ripped through the state since Thursday.

At least 31 people have been killed and over 200 are reported missing as 250,000 people have been forced to flee their homes, including celebrities such as Kim Kardashian-West, Lady Gaga and Orlando Bloom.

On Sunday, Scottish actor Butler posted an image to Twitter showing that all that remained of his house in Malibu was its steel frame.

“Returned to my house in Malibu after evacuating. Heartbreaking time across California. Inspired as ever by the courage, spirit and sacrifice of firefighters. Thank you Los Angeles Fire Department,” he captioned the image.

While 25-year-old singer Cyrus described herself as “one of the lucky ones” after her house – also in Malibu – went up in flames.

“I am one of the lucky ones. My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely & that’s all that matters right now,” Cyrus wrote.

“My house no longer stands but the memories shared with family & friends stand strong. I am grateful for all I have left.

“Sending so much love and gratitude to the firefighters and LA country Sheriff’s department!”

Singer Robin Thicke’s home in the area also burned down. The 41-year-old singer said on Instagram that he, his girlfriend and his two kids were “safe and surrounded by friends and family”, adding that they were “thankful to firefighters”.

“As we drove to safety, they risked their lives trying to save our home,” he said.

The Californian wildfires that began on Thursday are the deadliest in the state’s history. Over 8,000 firefighters are still battling the three large wildfires, which have destroyed thousands of homes, according to authorities.
