A Game of Thrones editor was mauled to death during a safari when a lion came through her open car window.
Katherine Chappell, who was 29, was being driven through a safari park in South Africa in 2015 when she lowered the window to take a photo of a lion nearby.
The lion quickly jumped up and lunged forward before mauling her through the window.
After the first attack, the lioness retreated before quickly returning and launching another, this time on the woman's face and chest.
Chappell's guide fought to save Katherine's life but was unsuccessful describing the moment as the 'worst experience' of his life.
Chappell's family released a statement on Facebook that read: “Katie was a brilliant, kind, adventurous and high-spirited woman. Her energy and passion could not be contained by mere continents or oceans. She was very much loved and shared her love for life with those she met."
She was one of the special effects editors who worked on Game of Thrones.
She also had credits on Captain America and Divergent.
