The full list of peerages given out by Keir Starmer has been revealed as the outgoing prime minister makes Mayor of London Sadiq Khan a lord.
Khan is one of 26 people to be nominated by Starmer for a peerage and a seat in the House of Lords as the King has already signed off on the nominations.
As is tradition, the prime minister submits a list of people he wants to receive a peerage when they are leaving Downing Street.
The King gets the final say, but rarely denies the nominations.
Khan becoming a Lord does allow him to become a minister, but there has been no rumour of such a move under Andy Burnham's incoming government.
There were nominations from the Labour Party, Lib Dems and Conservatives.

Retired judge known for leading the Leveson Inquiry, Sir Brian Leveson, also received a peerage.
This clearly irked Reform leader Nigel Farage who bitterly posted on X: "The House of Lords appointments are the uniparty writ large.
"Once again there is nothing for Reform and we get an even more unrepresentative upper house."
