Fraser Anning slaps teenager after being hit over the head with egg

Fraser Anning blamed the Christchurch shooting on immigration

Fraser Anning, the Senator for Queensland, had an egg slapped off his head today by a teenager, likely in response to the Australian politician’s comments made in the wake of the New Zealand mosque shooting in Christchurch. He reacted by then attacking the boy all whilst on camera.

Anning sparked outrage following the terror attack after blaming the event on both Muslims, who were the victims, and New Zealand immigrants.

“The real cause of bloodshed on New Zealand streets today is the immigration programme which allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand in the first place,” Anning said in a statement.

He added: “Let us be clear, whilst Muslims may have been the victims today, usually they are the perpetrators. Worldwide, Muslims are killing people in the name of their faith on an industrial scale.”

His comments have been widely condemned as Islamophobic and were likely the cause of the protest from a 17-year-old, who snuck into an interview he was conducting about immigration to hit him over the head with an egg.

Anning then immediately turns and slaps the teenager, before attempting to attack him again. The young boy is then set upon, grabbed around the neck and dragged to the ground. The footage has since gone viral.

Reports indicate that the boy has been released by police without charge.
