Payne died following a fall from a hotel balcony in October
Five people have been charged over Liam Payne‘s death in Argentina, according to local reports in the country.
According to Argentinian news site Infobae, the pop star’s close friend Rogelio “Roger” Nores and some hotel staff are allegedly among those charged.
The website published that five people have been charged by a judge and two have been remanded in custody.
The report claims Nores has been charged with negligent homicide. He reportedly left the singer at the CasaSur Palermo hotel about an hour before he fell to his death on October 16.
Meanwhile, waiter Braian Paiz was reportedly charged with supplying narcotics for payment, while hotel employee Ezequiel Pereyra was also charged with supplying drugs.
Paiz admitted using drugs, including cocaine, with the singer, according to the Daily Mail.
Two hotel managers Gilda Martín and Esteban Grassi have reportedly been charged with manslaughter.
Receptionist Grassi was the hotel employee who called 911 before Payne fell from the third floor balcony of his hotel suite.

Speaking to the Sun in November, Nores denied having any involvement with Payne’s death, and also denied suggestions he was one of three people arrested in connection with the tragedy.
The One Direction star was found dead in a courtyard at the CasaSur hotel in the Palermo neighbourhood of Buenos Aires on October 16.
Payne, 31, had fallen from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room, and it was confirmed the following day that he died from multiple traumas and internal and external bleeding caused by a fall.
Prosecutors said there was nothing to indicate third party involvement in Payne’s death and ruled out “self-harm,” according to a forensic psychiatric report.
