A European country is offering travelers unlimited rail travel for just £1.60 per day.

Yes, just £1.60.

Tourists in Germany can purchase the Deutschlandticket (or the ‘Germany ticket’ for a price of just €58 (or £48) per month, which equates to about £1.60 per day.

The ticket means you can travel anywhere in the country, from the clubs of Berlin to the beer gardens of Munich.

Even better again, the ticket covers unlimited local transport, including trams, buses and ferries.

While the Deutschlandticket is technically meant for German residents, there’s nothing to stop tourists from purchasing one.

All good things come at a small price, as you’ll have to plan ahead to purchase the ticket.

The tickets are only available for the first 10 days of the month you intend to use the ticket.

Additionally, the ticket is a subscription model, so unless you cancel, you will automatically get charged for the ticket each month.

Following your sign up, you’ll get an email warning you to cancel to avoid being charged again, and once you cancel before the tenth of the month, you’re good to go!

You can purchase and store the ticket in the DB (Deutsche Bahn) app, Germany’s national railway company.

The Deutschlandticket cannot be used on the country’s fast trains, so some journeys may be lengthier, for example, Berlin to Munich takes just shy of 4 hours on a fast train, and can take over 5 on the trains compatible with the ticket.
