England will celebrate their Women’s Euro 2022 triumph with a victory party at Trafalgar Square this afternoon.
The Lionesses ended 56 years years of hurt by beating Germany 2-1 after extra-time at Wembley on Sunday.
Chloe Kelly wrote her name into English football folklore after poking home the winner with just 10 minutes of extra time remaining.
The historic victory was witnessed 87,192 inside Wembley, a record crowd for a Euro’s match at either the men’s or women’s edition of the tournament.
And the team will now have the opportunity to celebrate with thousands more fans on Monday afternoon (August 1) at a victory party in Trafalgar Square.
Up to 7,000 fans will be able to attend the event, with gates opening at 11am. Highlights of the tournament will be shown on a big screen before Sarina Wiegman and the England team take to the stage for a Q&A and trophy lift.

The event will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 12.40pm onwards, hosted by Lionesses legend Alex Scott MBE, and is expected to end by 2pm.
Trafalgar Square has been an official UEFA ‘Fan Party’ for the final nine days of the competition.
Thousands watched the final there on Sunday evening, prompting jubilant celebrations.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “The Women’s EURO 2022 will have inspired a new generation of women footballers and I hope this paves the way for better access to football for girls in school, more investment in grassroots girls and women’s football and much more support for girls and women in all sports.
“I would like to thank Sarina Wiegman and the Lionesses for treating us to an amazing summer of football. I can’t wait to see them lift the trophy again as they celebrate with the fans on Trafalgar Square on Monday.”
