Drake & Josh actor Drake Bell charged with crimes against a child

Drake Bell, one half of Nickelodeon hit show Drake and Josh, has been charged with disseminating matter harmful to juveniles and attempted endangering children. The 34-year-old, full name Jared Drake Bell, is alleged to have committed the offence in December 2017. He was reportedly indicted by a grand jury in Ohio, though he has pleaded not guilty to the charges put to him. He has been freed on a bond of $2,500. According to local media, Bell allegedly engaged in an inappropriate chat with a minor, but details are scarce. In Touch weekly state that Bell's lawyer told them "the facts will be revealed in the courtroom." A trial is understood to have been scheduled for June 23. Bell has previously been accused of 'verbal and physical abuse' by his former girlfriend Melissa Lingafelt. Bell also denies these allegations, and says he 'never abused my ex-girlfriend or did so many of the other things Melissa falsely claimed on her TikTok video.' He says the claims made by his ex-girlfriend were done for 'more money or attention.'
