David Cameron has let slip just how much he hates Boris and Michael Gove

Doesn't look like he's ready to forgive and forget.

If someone had a prominent hand in publicly destroying your career, you’d probably harbour some ugly feelings towards them.

So it won’t come as a massive shock to learn than neither Boris Johnson or Michael Gove are on David Cameron’s Christmas list this year.

Both men were instrumental in helping secure the narrow Leave vote in June, which destroyed Cameron’s premiership. And if the former PM is to be believed, both apparently indicated to him that they would campaign for Remain before the referendum.

Being betrayed by Boris, a perennial rival who made no secret of his desire to one day become PM himself, can’t have been a complete shock to Cameron. However Gove was once a close friend and confidant of Cameron, before he opted to throw his weight behind the Leave campaign.

Until now the Prime Minister has not publicly opened up about how he now feels about his former colleagues.

According to the Mail on Sunday David Cameron was making an after-dinner speech to bankers at the Davos summit in Switzerland when he was asked how he’s filling his time these days.

The Conservative revealed he’s taken up shooting pheasants again after giving up the blood sport to avoid controversy while he was in Downing Street.

The former PM then said:

“I have used the extra time to take up shooting again. I find that when I shoot a few Borises and Michaels I feel a whole lot better.”

Ouch. What was that about there being truth in every joke…
