Cinema chain offers free entry to redheads so they can hide from the heatwave

For many, the heatwave taking place across the UK will be cause to rejoice. Thousands will flock to parks and beaches to soak up the rays and bake in the sun. But for one group, such conditions strike fear into the very heart. This is, of course, the redheaded community. Redheads are not built for the heat. We never have been and never will be. In fact, redheads are genetically engineered to need less sunlight in order to get the required amount of vitamin D. But on Monday and Tuesday next week, temperatures are set to reach the high 30s across the UK. The heat is predicted to be so extreme that the Met Office has had to issue its first ever red weather warning for heat on these days, meaning that the weather presents a risk to life. So, Showcase have decided to help out redheads across the land by offering them some SPF - sun protecting flicks. The cinema chain will let redheads watch the latest blockbusters in its cool, air-conditioned cinemas - completely free of charge. Mark Barlow, UK general manager for Showcase Cinemas, said: “While the UK enjoys some much-needed sunny weather, we know how hard some people find the heat. "That’s why to tackle the heatwave, we’re offering red heads free entry to our cinema screens this Monday and Tuesday, so they’ll be able to enjoy some of the amazing films on offer in the comfort of our air-conditioned cinema screens and ensure they stay protected from the sun." To claim the offer, simply show up at the box office of you local Showcase cinema on Monday (July 18) and Tuesday (July 19) for a film showing on that day.
