Nestlé are entering the orange chocolate game and I’m absolutely here for it.

Fish and chips. Gin and tonic. Wine and cheese. Some foods and flavours just belong together.

Chocolate and orange is up there with the very best of the flavour combinations. And if you disagree then understand this: you’re just wrong.

For a long time Terry’s famous Chocolate Orange ruled the roost, unchallenged. Then this year Cadbury got involved with the Twirl Orange, alongside Chocolate Orange Buttons and chocolate orange fingers. Now, Nestlé want some of the chocolatey action, with their new Yorkie Orange.

And it’s launching in the UK next week (10 May).

The new Yorkie bar (which as far as I’m aware, can be consumed by girls) was teased by Nestlé in April. They tweeted: “Keep your eyes peeled for the brand new Yorkie Orange, available next month!”

The bar will come in two sizes, of 46g and 72g (which I will absolutely not be sharing), and joins the classic milk chocolate Yorkie and the Raisin and Biscuit Yorkie in the range.

Amy Kendall, Yorkie’s brand manager, said: “Yorkie has been a consumer favourite for 45 years, and we’re very excited to introduce a brand new twist on this chocolate classic.

“Delicious chunks of our signature Yorkie creamy milk chocolate are enlivened with irresistible orange to create a moreish taste sensation that we hope will become a firm favourite.

“We know how much shoppers in the UK and Ireland love to try new products from their favourite brands. We think Yorkie Orange is a winning combination and can’t wait for people to try it!”

They’re only limited edition though, so you’ll have to be quick if you want to hunt one down.
