Carphone Warehouse customers need to be extra careful after massive cyber attack

JOE

If you’ve bought anything from Carphone Warehouse lately, you might need to stay vigilant.

The mobile phone giant has been the latest high-profile hacking victim, and there are concerns that the details of up to 2.4m customers could be compromised.

Tens of thousands of card details may have been accessed along with other personal details, according to a statement from the company – though they say the majority of customers are unaffected.

“We take the security of customer data extremely seriously, and we are very sorry that people have been affected by this attack on our systems,” said Sebastian James, CEO of parent company Dixons Carphone.

“We are, of course, informing anyone that may have been affected, and have put in place additional security measures.”
