If you're planning on committing a robbery, it's probably best not to flag it up with the victim.
Twitter user Gregor Ford had a golf club to sell and promptly advertised it online.
Having found a buyer in East Kilbride, the following exchange took place.

Gregor's new 'pal', having arranged to buy his putter for £20, promptly arranged to meet Gregor with a pal of his, 'do him in' and steal the piece of golfing equipment.
Not sound, but by far our favourite aspect of the whole story is how the stranger denies he was intending to steal Ford's putter and tries to pretend nothing happened - he was merely arranging a COMPLETELY different golf-related crime that bore no relation to their forthcoming transaction.
Wonderful.
Anyway, the deal was off, and as things stand, Gregor Ford still has a putter for sale.
