Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress Michelle Trachtenberg dead aged 39

Awful news

The actress was reportedly found dead on Wednesday in her New York City apartment.

NYPD said she was found “unconscious and unresponsive” and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sources told ABC News that Trachtenberg had recently had a liver transplant, and may have been experiencing complications. No foul play is suspected.

An autopsy will be carried out by the medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death.

Trachtenberg was best known for her roles in Gossip Girl, where she played Georgina Sparks, as well as for her role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer as Dawn Summers.

She first began her career as a child actress working on the Nickelodeon series The Adventures of Pete & Pete.
