British wrestler dies just a day after participating in event

No details about the cause of death have been released.

Satterley’s death was announced just one day after he took part in All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) "All Out" event in Chicago on Saturday night.

AEW paid tribute to Satterley following the news, describing him as a wrestler who had captivated audiences around the world with his ability and innovative approach.

“A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability,” the company said.

The wrestling community has been left reeling by Satterley’s death, with tributes quickly coming in from colleagues, friends and some of the biggest names in the sport.

Paul Heyman, who is a WWE Hall of Famer, described the news as a “truly terrible loss”. 

He remembered Satterley as a “tremendous talent and even finer human being”, highlighting the impact he had both inside and outside the ring.

AEW president Tony Khan also paid tribute, saying Satterley had “defined excellence” through his wrestling knowledge, skill and “unprecedented athleticism”. Khan also praised him as a husband and friend.

His fellow wrestlers also shared their disbelief. Evil Uno wrote: “I am in shock. This is heartbreaking. We have lost another great person, a great soul, a true professional.”

Will Ospreay, another British wrestler, posted a photo of himself with Satterly in the ring on X. Alongside it, he wrote: “The greatest export from our country. Also the greatest human being.”
